An MFAR luxury hospitality project that spans over an entire island in the Maldives boasts of a long swimming pool flanked with large architectural timber structures for lounging and pool changing amenities. The project entailed design engineering, detailing, developing and implementing these structures along with process and its material planning. They were designed in the timber species Teak which were glue-laminated to enhance its structural properties like that of steel. The teak was finished with a nanotechnology-based oil that enables it to stand against the extreme climate of the Maldives.
